When I was thinking about what I wanted to blog about today, I found my self in a game(or match IDK) of bowling and I thought cross training. Now I'm not talking about cross training for training purposes, but about doing/playing sports outside of running. George Sheehan once wrote "Running makes you an athlete in all areas of life." I like to think of this quote when I am playing another sport.
Today it was bowling but more often than not it is a football game or just running after a fly ball(baseball that it is). In a way it all comes back to that George Sheehan Quote because running helps in keeping me in shape for what ever sport comes next.
With all that said, running is a straight line kind of sport. Most other sports are not, to help that I try to do other workouts like plyometrics and yoga to help with some of those lateral moments. Anyway sometimes it is nice to play a ball sport, instead of always going in a straight line.
