All of this wet weather over the past few days has got me thinking about my old shoes. Mainly because I keep on getting my current shoes all muddy and wet. My last rainy run though I kept my shoes dry and clean.
During my last rainy run, I took my old emergency running shoes out for a run. I generally like to keep a pair in the car in case I need a change of shoes. That rainy day they came in handy.
Those shoes, an old version of the Asics Cumulus did their job. They were my running shoes, they got wet and kept on going. The shoes felt pretty good too. One of the reasons they felt good is because they had not been used in a while so the foam was not flattened too much.
I guess my point is so many people get rid of their shoes after they are no good for everyday running any more. The shoe might still have some use left in it. Not enough to use everyday but on occasion.
This sites main job is to keep you informed about running through shoe, product and race reviews.
