It has been a few shoes since I have run in the Asics 2000. The 2000 back when it was the 2100 series was the first running shoe that I bought at a running store. I am happy to say the new v5 edition is still good to go.
I have put about 60 or so miles on my pair of 2000 v5's before writing this review. I have run on the roads, muddy trails, dry trails, sidewalk and can't find a complaint. The shoe has kept a similar width in forefoot as it has in the past and there is really no issue there for me.
Somethings that stick out that I really like, are how the shoe holds my foot around the ankle. It feels appropriately snug and secure without having to do any work to make it that way, just tighten and go. Something else I like is the laces. Nothing super special except that I have not really had to double knot the laces. Just a single knot and they stay put.
Over all a great shoe. The upper feels great the mid-sole is nice and cushioned and outsole sticks to the ground well. Coming in at $120 you can get the Asics 2000 v5 at your local running store or get it online at runpacers.com.
This sites main job is to keep you informed about running through shoe, product and race reviews.
