Something that has always been great about running is that you can take it anywhere. As a runner taking my run on vacation is something that is important to me. It's funny though because whenever I go on vacation where I will be running is somewhere in the back of my mind. That was true on this last trip I just got back from.
I took a flight to my location. When I am flying, prepping for the run starts right as I pack. Wondering how many clothes for running I can pack and how much I can fit, then the next big one is the shoes that I will be bringing.
On this past trip I just returned from I was able to take one bag with me on the plane, so you can imagine how packed it was. But I got a pair of shoes in there, some running socks, shorts and shirts then my everyday clothes and sandals.

Once I got to my location and was driving to where I was staying I was looking at the roads around town to see where I would be running. I got a good view and knew where my run would be starting the next day.
As I started my run on a somewhat country road into town, a little dog was chasing me down the road before his owner call him back to the house. It was probably a funny to see a little dog named Gizmo chasing a guy down the street, it was pretty funny to me as well.
But as I got through the town I was getting close to the hi-way. Well I lucked out because there was a scenic hiking trail that ran beside the highway with tunnels that followed underneath it. I ran on this trail without seeing any other people for many miles, it was pretty cool. On the trail I did get to see some huge trees, a small waterfall and a fish hatchery.

I hit up this trail for two separate days until I hit my milage count for the week. After the two runs I cleaned my clothes and let them dry before they went back in the bag. But it was nice to get to see some different sights while on the trip. That has always been a cool thing when running in different places. While running I am able to investigate the towns a little better and get an idea of what I want to see while I am on the trip. In fact that is how we figured out what we had for breakfast the first day.
